Mick was Editor of the renowned international historic-aviation magazine Aeroplane \u2014<\/em>\u00a0published by IPC Media, part of Time Warner \u2014 until October 2010, when he took redundancy, subsequently spending a year as the magazine’s Consultant Editor. He is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society\u2019s Historical Group Committee (www.raes.org.uk<\/a>), and in June 2011 he received The Air League\u2019s prestigious Scott-Farnie Medal from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh \u201cfor most meritorious work in the field of air education\u201d. In October 2012 he and former Aeroplane<\/em> colleague Nick Stroud launched a new independent quarterly journal, The Aviation Historian<\/em> (www.theaviationhistorian.com<\/a>); Mick splits his time between being Managing Editor of TAH<\/em> and continuing with his Egyptian stonecarvings etc\u00a0\u2014 an unusual and rewarding combination.<\/p>\n Lynn\u2019s career was in the financial services sector, mainly doing management reporting and accounts analysis, and until early 2025 she was Finance Manager of\u00a0The Aviation Historian<\/em> (see above).<\/p>\n Having both had full-time, high-pressure office jobs for nearly 30 years \u2014 with Mick doing mainly words and Lynn doing mainly numbers \u2014 we leapt at the chance to work together on ventures which had been bubbling in the backs of our minds for a long time.
